Three Dimensional Structure of Metallogenic Geologic Bodies in the Fenghuangshan Ore Field and Ore-Controlling Geological Factors

The Fenghuangshan copper mine in Tongling,Anhui Province is confronted with a serious shortage of resources,so it is of great singificance to conduct 3-D positioning prediction for deep concealed ore bodies by building a three-dimensional structure model for the geologic bodies and a geological model for ore-controlling factors.Positioning of the Fenghuangshan ore deposits and ore bodies is controlled jointly by contact zone and fault structures.The Xinwuli magmatic body is intrusively in contact with the country rocks,locally on top of country rocks.Shape and occurrence of the contact zones controls the spatial distribution of ore bodies.Based on the relation between geological characteristics and mineralization of the ore field,Xinwuli magmatic bodies,contact zone,strata and tensional faults were built using the 3-D geological modeling technology.The 3D structure models show that the Xinwuli magmatic body has complex structure,and is the fan-shaped SE-trending rock,accompanied by numerious intensive deformation.The contact zone of the magmatic body and the country rocks controls the occurrence and spatial distribution of ore bodies.Structure of the strata is a compound syncline and faulting contains four NW-trending transverse tensional faults.Based on mathematical morphology and Euclidean distance transformation,this study decomposed and analyzed morphological strucutre of the Xinwuli magmatic body using the raster model and then acquired two-level trend components and two-level undulate components for the magmatic body.Spatial analysis method was employed to build the 3-D raster model of the thermal field factor(dG),the morphological factors(wr1G and wr2G),the fold structure factor(dD3) and the transverse tensional fault factor(dF),which was used to produce from statistic data scattering diagram so as to gain the relation between ore-controlling geological factors and mineralization index and display mineralized enrichment areas and their 3-D diagrams.The model of geological structure and the raster model of ore-controlling factors for the geological bodies can be used to describe spatial distribution of various geologic bodies and ore-controlling geological process,to analyze the relationship among 3-D structure of geologic bodies,ore-controlling geological factors,and spatial distribution of mineralization,so as to provide the spatial analysis base and 3D visualization model for 3-D positioing of deep concealed ore bodies.
