The fast economical development causes the geological disaster problem which the humanity activity causes to be more and more serious, construction project is an important content of humanity activities, our country has definitely requested to carry on the geological disaster risk appraisal for construction project. In view of the present situation that geology disaster risk appraisal of construction project mostly is at the qualitative evaluation stage, this paper proposes to carry on construction project risk evaluation using GIS. Take a county metallurgy chemical industry processing factory in western Guangxi as the example, this paper designs geological risk evaluation model based on GIS, introduces in detail the appraisal process, and demonstrates visually the appraisal result by GIS. The practice proves that GIS may provide the scientific performance method for construction project geologic hazard risk quantitative assessment and visualization output.
