Geochemical Characteristics of Lower Cambrian Black Rock Series in Northwestern Hunan Province, China

The study showed that the content of major elements SiO2 ranges from 10.54% to 87.10%, and the average is 51.15%. The total amounts of REE content has a large range, from 92.70 μg/g to 737.84 μg/g, average at 312.73 μg/g, LREE enrichment and HREE depletion, slightly to medially negative Ce anomaly. Most samples have weak positive Eu anomaly. The shale-normalized distribution patterns are hat-like type, and the curve is gentle inclined. The trace elements of Ni, Mo, Ba, V have high contents. The ore-bearing rock is phosphorite not carbonaceous shale. The result indicates that the Lower Cambrian black rock series in Northwestern Hunan Province were deposited in an epeiric sea environment.
