Mixed sedimentation of terrigenous clastics and carbonates was a sedimentary phenomenon and of special sedimentation mechanism and significance. It was extensively developed in Mantou Formation in Dabeiwang area in Cambrian period. Detailed studies about characteristics of the mixed sedimentary rocks in this area were conducted on the basis of regional geological data and field observations, as well as intensive thin section analyses in present research. Mixed sedimentary environments were the occurrences of sedimentary facies such as mixed tidal fiat, mixed restricted platform, mixed open platform and mixed platform margin. In combination with the tectonic settings and guided by the sedimentary principles, the authors proposed a mixed sedimentation model of the Cambrian Mantou Formation of Dabeiwang area in Xuzhou. The authors further summarized and discussed the controlling factors of the mixed sedimentation.
