Based on the large amount of isotope ages of the fault in area of Three Gorges, the authors make out the distribution histogram of fault activity ages. Through contrast with distribution of landslip ages and climate periods, find that the peak period of landslip actives lagged behind the fault activeness peak period obviously, and the period of fault activity corresponding to the period in which the climate from warm changed into cold. Comprehensive analysis showed that tectonic activity in the peak period of fault active mess mainly prepared conditions for the genesis of landslips. Moreover the heavy rainfall and seismic activity in the environment of warm climate were the main factors which triggered landslips.
