摘要
The catchment above Longyangxia Gorge in the upper Yellow River basin is situated in the
no rtheast of the Tibetan Plateau．Meltw ater from snow is the main water supply to the rivers in this re-gion during spring (late March to early June)．In thls paper．the study target is the in flow to the
Longyangxia Reservoir，the largest reservoir in the upper Yellow R iver basin，during late M arch to ea·rly June．T hen a m id—term operatio na l runof pre& ctio n m odel based o n snow co ver data from AVHRR images of NORR m eteorological satellite and ground surface hydro～meteorological data，ca-lied double sifting and stepw ise regression model，IS presented to forecast the inflow during this period．
Examining at the reservoir shows that the forecast accuracy is satisfying.
