I studied 0.1 ha plots in 33 half-century old stands originating from clear-cuts.
Changes in bryophyte assemblages over 15 years were assessed in a re-survey.
Species specialized to rocks had recovered to some extent, but not other groups.
Assemblages recovered less in stands which were thinned during the 15-year period.
Bryophyte recovery after clear-cutting could be enhanced by adapting thinning.
