Zirconia nanowires were grown via chemical vapor deposition. Synthesized zirconia nanowires are single-crystalline and monoclinic structure. There was no metal droplet at the nanowire tips despite the use of an Au metal catalyst. Growth mode of the nanowires are suggested. One-dimensional nanostructures of single crystalline zirconia synthesized through CVD have not seen extensive study.
