NE Iran Ordovician and Devonian sandstones show detrital zircon age populations at ~2.5, ~0.8–0.6, 0.5 and ~0.5–0.4 Ga. 0.5–0.4 Ga zircons show Paleotethys–related magmatism. 0.5 Ga zircons are related to Cadomian magmatism in N Gondwana. Positive εHf (t) values of 0.8–0.6 Ga zircons show ANS magmatic sources.
