The slip-weakening effects on friction resistance of sliding surface are studied. The velocity-displacement dependent friction law is incorporated into DDA code. Friction degradation of sliding surface increases runout and velocity of landslide. The Daguangbao landslide induced by the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake is modelled.
