Tectono-magmatic evolution of the Chihuahua-Sinaloa border region in northern Mexico: Insights from zircon-apatite U-Pb geochronology, zircon Hf isotope composition and geochemistry of granodiorite intrusions

文摘

Magmatism at the Chihuahua-Sinaloa border region is recorded at ~ 1) 90 Ma, 2) 80 Ma, 3) 75–72 Ma, 4) 67–60 Ma and 5) 50 Ma

Zircon-apatite dating suggests both slow and fast cooling and deeper and shallow emplacement.

Inheritance-poor magmatic rocks in this region are not derived from melting preexisting older basement beneath the batholith.

Source magma is primarily generated by the partial melting in the subcontinental mantle wedge above the Farallon plate.

Minimal input from crustal material in the genesis of 65 to 50 Ma porphyry Cu–Au mineralization
