A statistics-driven noise suppression technique is proposed. Whitening procedure is applicable to a number of seismic monitoring scenarios. Noise energy is reduced by a factor of 3.5. Microseismic events are imaged at significantly lower SNRs after whitening. Procedure performance is highly resistant to most changes in noise properties.
