Digital image based quality assessment is proposed for coated paper fold cracking. The white pixel percentage on digitized samples faithfully describes the fold-cracks. A fine-tuned camera-based setup has potential for in-line fold-crack evaluation. The scanner-based setup is already suitable for laboratory quality assessment.
