High-precision CA-ID-TIMS and SIMS U-Pb zircon dates of three ash beds from the Guadalupian of South China are documented. The age of 272.95 ± 0.11 Ma is suggested for the base of the Guadalupian Series. The duration of the Guadalupian Epoch is about 13.85 myr.
