Design of friction and wear resistant titanium- and cobalt-modified nickel-base repair alloys by spray forming

A novel method for preparing repair gas turbine components, which is spray forming, was investigated. Ni-base repair alloy with 4.06 wt% Ti and 28.36 wt% Co shows the best friction and wear resistant properties. γ/γ′ misfit, grain size, coherent γ′ size and oxide film influence friction and wear properties of Ni-base repair alloy.
