High efficiency removal of Cr(VI) resulted from the composite of H-NZVI.

Cations greatly facilitated the removal of Cr(VI), and the effect of Mg2+ was extraordinary.

The removal mechanism of Cr(VI) consisted of physical adsorption and reduction.
