Tested effects of school leadership on teacher learning in urban and rural schools in China. Effects of leadership on teacher learning were partially mediated by teacher trust and agency. Similar process model was confirmed for urban and rural schools. Leadership, teacher trust and agency, teacher learning were weaker in rural schools. Suggests need to invest in learning-centered leadership and teacher learning in rural schools.
