CWESGFs from the SWLA subaqueous delta are described in terms of their formative hydrodynamics. Wave period is considered as having a strong influence on the development of CWESGF sedimentary fabric and microstratigraphy. A novel framework is presented with which relationships between CWESGF hydrodynamics and sedimentary fabrics can be further studied. This novel framework can be used to help interpret the hydrodynamic conditions under which CWESGFs observed in the rock record were deposited.
