An accurate thermodynamic model of CO2/toluene and C2H6/toluene systems is required to improve the design of industrial processes including separation, supercritical extraction, and fine particle production. We present new sets of experimental solubility data for CO2 (298.15 鈮?T 鈮?63.15 K and P 鈮?5.1 MPa) and C2H6 (294.15 鈮?T 鈮?63.15 K and P 鈮?3.65 MPa) in toluene as well as the corresponding liquid phase densities. The Peng鈥揜obinson equation of state/excess Gibbs free energy model (PR-EoS/GE) is applied to represent the experimental data over a wide range of temperatures and pressures. Our results show acceptable agreement between the experimental and calculated solubility and density data. The presented experimental data and thermodynamic model will find applications in the design of separation, extraction, and fine particle production processes.
