We have successfully synthesized Pd microspheres with a particle size of 2-4 
m and "layer-by-layer" microdisks withdiameters of about 2-4 m by the reduction of H2PdCl4 by hydrazine via a polymer-assisted process. The novel palladium microstructureswere formed through self-assembly of the nanosheets.
