Margaret Drabble was one of the most outstanding and most influential British female writers in the middle of the 20 th century. Since her "Jerusalem the Golden" has entered people's field of vision, many scholars think that it is a typical feminist masterpiece, believing that Drabble criticizes the shackles of patriarchal society for women and advocates that women bravely pursue their independence and happiness. However, if we read it carefully, we will find that this work actually implies her avant-garde postmodern feminist thought, such as her deliberate subversion of masculinity, advocacy of gender harmony, etc. in the novel. In other words, her female thought has long reached the height of postmodernism, but this is often overlooked.
