Objective To observe the clinical curative effects of Yinyang Nine Acupuncture therapy on the thumb including the eighth needling of Qiufeng Saoye(horizontal insertion of the needle from the bilateral side of the thumb under the nail and then needling toward the base of the thumb)and the sixth needling of Zhentong Renhe(horizontal insertion of the needle from the midpoint of the line of thumb spiral burr center to the thumb phalangeal joint and then needling toward the base of the thumb)combined with Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction on intractable hiccups after stroke. Methods Sixty patients with intractable hiccups after stroke were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,30 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with Yinyang Nine Acupuncture combined with Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction on the basis of routine treatment and symptomatic treatment, and the control group was treated with Baclofen Tablets orally. The integral of hiccup frequency, the scores of life quality and clinical curative effects were observed. Results(1)After treatment, the integral of hiccup frequency in the two groups was significantly increased(P < 0.05). The increase of the integral of hiccup frequency in the treatment group was more obvious than that in the control group(P < 0.05).(2)There was a significant reduction in the life quality scores in the two groups(P < 0.05). The reduction of life quality score in the treatment group was more obvious than that in the control group(P < 0.05).(3)The total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.33% and that of the control group was 60.00%,the difference being significant(P < 0.05). Conclusion The therapy of Yinyang Nine Acupuncture combined with Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction has effect on decreasing the integral of hiccup frequency, and improving hiccup symptom and life quality of the patients with hiccups after stroke.
