从《了不起的盖茨比》看“爵士时代”美国梦的幻灭

摘要
小说《了不起的盖茨比》描绘的是主人公盖茨比追逐"美国梦"却最终付出生命代价,梦想幻灭的悲剧,小说生动地再现了"爵士时代"的风貌特征。通过对小说中"爵士时代"的社会现实以及盖茨比的理想主义和盲目追求的批判,剖析"美国梦"、盖茨比的"美国梦"和"爵士时代"特征,揭露"美国梦"幻灭的必然性,揭示盖茨比的悲剧是整个"爵士时代"的悲剧,是精神文明陷入窘境的缩影。
The Great Gatsby depicts the tragedy that Gatsby pursues the "American Dream" but eventually pays the price of his life and his dream is disillusioned.The novel vividly represents the features of the "Jazz age".By criticizing the social reality of the "Jazz age" and Gatsby′s idealism and blind pursuit,it analyzes the characteristics of the "American Dream",Gatsby′s "American Dream" and "Jazz age" in the paper,revealed the inevitability of the disillusionment of the "American Dream",and Gatsby′s tragedy is the tragedy of the whole "Jazz age" and the epitome of the dilemma of spiritual civilization.
