细胞膜或膜结构被认为是生命出现的基础条件,而小囊泡可能是最初的原始细胞。单链脂肪酸分子被广泛认为可能是早期细胞膜的膜组分,但其存在囊泡形成的pH范围窄、所需浓度高和不耐二价金属阳离子等问题,其可能性受到质疑。本文报道了2-酮辛酸(KOO-H)囊泡,其形成的pH宽、浓度低,且抗盐(含二价金属阳离子)能力强,具有良好的热稳定性和冻融稳定性等,可能是一个比传统脂肪酸更好的原始细胞模型。
Early cellular membranes are presumably composed of simple single-tailed amphiphiles(STAs) such as fatty acids,fatty alcohols and monoglycerides arising from their facile prebiotic synthesis and the bilayer-forming ability.We report a novel model system of protocell-like vesicles based on a prebiotic STA,2-ketooctanoic acid(KOO-H),focusing on spontaneous vesicle formation in very dilute solution without any cosurfactants or additives.More interestingly,the 2-KOA vesicles displayed good stability upon long-term storage and even exposure to high-salinity artificial seawater,which qualified them to be a protocell-like membrane model.
