///“Shanghai 3‐D urban geological survey” project launched jointly by the Ministry of Land and Resources and the Shanghai Municipal Government, intends originally to develop a mechanism for urban geology to participate and integrate more actively into the economic and social construction. Taking the social needs as mainline, Shanghai urban geology focuses always on the needs of urban planning, construction and management. In order to make full use of the multidisciplinary and multi-regional advantages, and to apply the modern information technology in depth, a few new methods are explored and practiced relying closely on the administrative management platform.
