A method for detecting bromine content in brine through wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry has been determined. Synthesized standard samples were used to calibrate the working curve. Soil samples with known bromine content were selected as the carrier to adsorb brine and were then pressed into slice samples. The results are consistent with data of chemical methods and the relative standard deviation (RSD, n=11) is less than 1.20%. This simple and fast method satisfies the requirements of rapid quantitative analysis for Br in brine samples.
