Gaomi City was once a serious fluorine poisoned region. Shallow high-fluorine groundwater was the main cause of endemic fluorosis. On the basis of a systematic environmental geochemical survey, the genesis of local high-fluorine groundwater was studied. The results showed that the rock and soil are the main sources of local shallow groundwater. The factors and process of F enrichment were discussed and the measures of controlling high-F groundwater were put forward.
