摘要
Based on the previous research results on longevity for Rugao in Jiangsu Province, and in light of eco-geochemistry, the authors studied and analyzed the characteristics of microelements in soil solution, shallow ground water, wet and dry deposition of the at- mosphere. It was concluded that the microelements of selenium, iodine and zinc were rich and they were beneficial to human health, those heavy element contents harmful to human health like arsenic, mercury, cadmium and lead were the lowest in the whole province, demonstrating that a fine eco-geochemical environment was the origin of longevity in Rugao.
