In order to prevent and control the landslide disaster of the Weijiagou waste dump in Chongqing, the characteristics, the developing background and the influence factors of the Weijiagou waste dump landslide were studied. The results indicate that many factors affecting the waste dump have accumulation characteristics of their own. These factors include special bulky material source, accumulating manner of waste dump, etc. As a results, these special accumulation characteristics of the waste dump induce many properties of waste dump to form and vary gradually, such as the self-organized criticality, the binary space structure, the potential slip face vary, the hydrogeologic condition change, etc, and the stability of the waste dump present a dynamic evolving process corresponding to the property changes.
