The environmental geology survey of the area reveals: frequent landslides, collapses and erosion in the eastern and southern Taishan Mts. due to the exposed acidic intrusive rocks and engineering activities; common landslides and subsidences in the eastern and southern Enping, and the southern Kaiping resulted from loose soil and buried karst; different ground settlements and cracks of engineering structures in the southern coastal area with extensive soft soil; and, reduced farmland and surface water-soil pollution in the coastal area led by breeding and urbanization. Overall, the environmental geology is favorable with less-developed geo-hazards, but harmful.
