Taking South Sumatra Basin in Indonesia for example,this paper analyzes the developing characteristics of synsedimentary faults in the back-arc rift basin.On the basis of integrating log facies,paleotopography analysis and seismic facies analysis,the paper studies the controlling of the synsedimentary faults on sedimentary facies systematically in the Ripah oilfield of this basin.The target beds in study area are dominated by delta plain subfacies,and the main sedimentary microfacies are channel,overbank and swamp.The three oil-layer groups experienced a transgressive process.The sedimentary facies presents good succession.The study proves that the synsedimentary structure has good controlling on deposition.
