摘要
The opening processes of geological systems, such as metasomatism, alteration, melting, weathering, percolation and deformation, typically lead to significant mobilization and transfer of specific components ( elements) . The species and transfer degree for each component are extremely important to understand the geological processes involved. As a key approach to constrain the mass gain or loss during the opening of a geological system,mass-balance calculation has been broadly applied to a series of geological processes. Till now, various mass-balance calculation formulas and corresponding diagrams have been established, however, the basic idea of these methods are totally identical. This paper presents an overview on the progress in mass-balance calculation and particularly introduces a few of important mass-balance calculation methods, including composition-volume diagram ( Gresens,1967 ) ,Isocon diagram ( Grant,1986) ,normalized Isocon diagram ( Guo et al. ,2009 ) and quantitative calculation method. Moreover,we also summarize the scope of application,( dis) advantages and key issues of each method mentioned above. It is expected that this work could make the beginners have an overall understanding on the principle, basic idea and application process of the mass-balance calculation.
