     This year is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Academician Lu Yan-hao, former Chief Editor of Journal of Stratigraphy. He made important contributions to both palaeontology and stratigraphy in China. He laid the foundation of the Cambrian stratigraphic subdivision in China, contributed to the study of Ordovician and Permian stratigraphy, and proposed the Bio-environmental Control Hypothesis. He also played an important role in the organization of stratigraphic projects in the NIGPAS.
