A systematic biological stratigraphic sequence of the Tethys in South Asia Belt of the Himalaya had been established by the predecessors. The sequence is more complete for the Late Cretaceous than the Early Cretaceous. The Qiangdong section of Gamba, southern Tibet was firstly studied in this work which focused on the foraminiferal biostratigraphy.Aboundant foraminiferal fossils were gained from this section and two foraminiferal assemblages were recognized which includes Ticinella roberti-Hedbergella trocoidea assemblage and Globigerinelloides algeriana-Hedbergella gorbachikae assemblage. This work further improves the Early Cretaceous biostratigraphic sequence of the Himalaya South subzone of Tethyan.
