Fractures Domains in Conceptual Models of Fault-Related Folds
详细信息
摘要

The impact on fractures in fault-related fold is mainly performed at two aspectsThe effect of geometry shape of stratum on fracture orientation and the effect of rock deformation on the fracture development degree. The regional fracture is characterized by stable azimuth in the weak area of structural deformation, no apparent horizontal dislocation on the fracture surface, perpendicular to the rock stratum and the fracture orientation would be changed with the variation of attitude of stratum, which is the basis of the theory of fracture domain. The conception for fracture domain is referred based on the conception model. Geometry is applied on the analysis and description for the distribution of the regional fracture orientation in the Suppes parallel kink conception model, while the law of the distribution of fractures orientations in curved conception model is proposed. Generally, the conception model could be divided into 5 or 6 parts based on the structure position and different parts have different orientations of regional fractures. Generally, regional fractures in the parts of hinterland, crest and footwall are almost upright. Dip directions of the fractures in the forelimb are always the same direction to that of major fault, while in the backlimb, the dip directions are opposite. The dip angles of regional fractures are controlled by the dip angle of fault and forelimb. According to the data of the measured fractures near the outcrop of fault-related fold near the Kapushaliang River in Xinjiang, the analysis of conception model is in good accordance. This method could provide a new thought to solve the problem for studying the impaction on fractures of fault-related fold in the foreland basin.
