     Abiding by the classifying standards of the mud-shale layer series and selecting principles of horizontal plays and vertical layer series, the favorable areas of shale oil are optimized for the Shahejie Formation of North Dongpu Sag. In vertical, on the basis the above dividing standards, the mud-shale layer series is identified, and furthermore considering the resource value and hydrocarbon enriched probability, the series enriched shale oil i. e. shale oil layer-series is optimized; in horizontal, making full use of TOC spread, movable resources amount and congruent map of the recoverability index, the favorable areas of the shale oil are optimized. The accumulated spaces of the oil is determined by the combination of the vertical and horizontal： the favorable areas in Es3z Mem- ber shale oil are distributed in Mazhai and Liutun Low, in detail vertically distributed in Es3zl, Es3z2, Es3z3, Es3z5, Es3z6, Es3z7 sublayers ; the favorable areas in Es3x Member are located in Liutun Low and Weicheng re- gion, the vertical distribution is focused in Es3x7 sublayer.
