In order to provide a scientific basis for mineral purification of the quartzose sandstone in Huangdan, Muchuan County, a variety of mineral test and analysis methods were used to enhance the study on process mineralogy of the mine.The material of this mine was a kind of muddy quartz sandstone with minor feldspar, in which the grain size of quartz fragments ranges from 0.2 mm to 0.5 mm with a high crystalline of 90% content. Meanwhile, there were also minor montmorillonite, illite, kaolinite, microcline feldspar and calcite, pyrite, szomolnokite, rutile, brookite in the rocks.Clay mineral and pyrite had a great impact on the quality of the ore, and they irregularly scattered among quartz particles as interstitial materials.
