NW China has 27 Mo-bearing deposits with a total reserve of > 1.9 Mt Mo metal. Mo (Mo-) and Cu-Mo deposits were mainly formed in 260–200 and 420–320 Ma, respectively. Mineralization includes porphyry-type, followed by skarn and quartz vein types. Subduction and collision caused Paleozoic and Triassic mineralization, respectively.
