2018年12月5日,备受全球文化界瞩目的赫尔辛基中央图书馆隆重开幕。吴建中认为该馆是一座"向所有人开放的公共空间",具备了新一代图书馆应该具有的功能,即作为交流中心、学习中心和知识中心,并能服务城市创新、提升城市品格、助力人的全面发展,为全球图书馆空间改造树立了榜样;程焕文将馆名"Oodi"音译为"无敌",分别从其建筑设计风格、空间功能设计等角度阐述了该馆的无敌之处,他认为空间资源的拓展和空间功能的多样化必将成为公共图书馆的发展方向,并将重新塑造公共图书馆的未来;科恩·戴安娜及莱斯内斯基·特拉奇从建筑设计角度出发,对该馆的建筑设计理念给予肯定,提出图书馆建筑设计旨在尽可能广泛地为各阶层人民提供支持,让所有用户都享有平等的空间使用权,能够在有尊严、舒适和轻松的环境中使用图书馆,并认为该馆为全球城市市民参与文化场所建设树立了优秀的榜样。同时他们强调了图书馆建筑包容设计的重要性,对该馆展示出的包容性表示了高度赞赏;唐玉恩则以该馆的地理位置、楼层分布、建筑设计风格为例,提出不同国家地区的公共图书馆设计应体现本图书馆的特色、并适应本地的社会文化需求,更好地展示自身文化特点;特纳兹泰培·艾利弗和哈迪·克里斯则认为图书馆必须拥有足够开放的结构体系,使用户能够共同创造、定义空间和影响整体环境,同时图书馆设计必须具有建筑的独创性,既能令用户产生愉悦感,又能增强公民自豪感。他们认为该馆将成为新的文化枢纽,验证图书馆作为开放架构的理念。

He believes that the expansion of public library space resources and the diversification of spatial functions will surely become the development direction of public libraries and will reshape the future of public libraries; Cohen Diana and Lesneski Trach endorced the building's architectural and construction concept from the perspective of architectural design. The library architectural design aims to provide support to people of all walks of life as widely as possible, so that all users can have equal access to the library space, feel dignified, and use the library in a comfortable and relaxing environment. They consider the library has set a good example for city residents of the world participating in the construction of cultural places. At the same time, they emphasizes the importance of the inclusive design of library buildings, and highly appreciates the inclusiveness displayed by this new library building. Tang Yuen takes the geographical location, floor distribution, architectural design and actual situation of the library as examples to propose that for different countries and regions, the design of the public library should reflect the characteristics of the library and adapt to the local social and cultural needs so as to showcase its cultural characteristics. Ehriver Turnstay and Chris Hardy believe that the library must be open enough, and its structure allows users to create, define, and influence the overall environment. At the same time, library design must have architectural originalities, which can provide users with pleasure and enhance the pride of citizens. They believe that the library will become a new cultural hub and witness the library functions as an open structure.
