荧光碳量子点的制备及其在白光LED中的应用

摘要
碳量子点(C-Dots),是一类尺寸小于10nm的新型碳纳米材料,自从2004年发现以来,荧光碳点的研究引起越来越广泛的关注。相对于传统的半导体量子点和有机染料,碳量子点不仅具有低毒性、生物相容性等优点,而且还具有光稳定性好、发光波长可调、易于功能化、廉价、易大规模制备等无可比拟的优势。因此,碳点作为碳纳米材料家族冉冉升起的新星,在能源器件、光催化、生物等领域中有着广泛的应用。光转换型白光发光二极管(白光LED)是目前最成熟的也是最具潜力的固态发光器件,具有光转换效率高,节能环保,使用方便,寿命长等优点,在照明领域拥有非常广泛的应用。但是,将碳量子点应用在白光LED上的报道并不多。本课题组采用鸡蛋[1]、树叶[2]、头发[3]等廉价的生物质作为前驱体,采用等离子体[1]、高温碳化等方法成功制备出荧光碳量子点,并首次将碳量子点应用于白光LED上[4,5],进一步拓宽了碳量子点的应用领域。
Fluorescent carbon nanoparticles or carbon dots(C-Dots) are a new class of carbon nanomaterials that have emerged recently and have garnered much interest as potential competitors to conventional semiconductor quantum dots. In addition to their comparable optical properties, C-Dots have the desired advantages of low toxicity, environmental friendliness, low cost and simple synthetic routes.As a rising star in fluorescent nanomaterials, C-Dots have shown tremendous potential as versatile nanomaterials for a wide range of applications, including bioimaging, optoelectronic devices and photocatalysis. Solid-state white light-emitting devices(WLEDs) are considered to be a promising illumination source and have attracted extensive research interest owing to their long working life, low power consumptions, fast response times and so forth. However, the reported application of carbon dots in WLEDs is rare. Our group uses eggs, leaves, hair and other cheap biomass as precursor, successfully synthesized fluorescent carbon dots and applied in WLEDs for the first time.
