摘要

中国古代伟大的经典名著《红楼梦》刊刻至今，其续补之作从未间断过。笔者重点选择了八部清代《红楼梦》续书和六部当代《红楼梦》续书来从整体上观照《红楼梦》古今续书。本文分为“评述篇”和“思理篇”，“评述篇”从具体文本出发，又分为清代《红楼梦》续书概观和当代《红楼梦》续书概观两部分，前一部分从续法和续书的缘起、“钗黛之争”的处理等四个方面来论述；后一部分从具体人物命运的安排和艺术手段的处理两方面来论述。“思理篇”则运用悲剧、圆形人物与扁形人物的理论来分析两代《红楼梦》续书的异同与得失。从而得出结论：就小说的形式而言，尽管在某些方面也取得了一些成就，但是这些续书基本上是不成功的，不过续书作为一种历史文化遗产，有认识意义，必须予以清理。
Ever since the Chinese ancient and classic masterpiece——《 The Dream of the Red Chamber 》was published and engraved, there have been a great variety of continuations with respective emphases. Among them the writer of this paper especially selected eight versions in Manchu dynasty and six contemporary ones in order to study these continuations comprehensively. This paper comprises of two main parts: commentary article and thinking article. The commentary article bases on the concrete articles and is divided into two parts of the continuations in Manchu dynasty and contemporary era. The first part includes the method and origin of these continuations, the handle of Baochai and Daiyu etc; The second part emphasizes on the arrangement of the concrete person destiny and the handle of art means. The thinking article discusses the difference and similar, gain and loss between these two kinds of continuations using the tragedy, the theory of circular person and flat form person. From the discussion in this paper, it can be seen clearly that although they have obtained some achievements, these continuations are basically unsuccessful. As a kind of history culture inheritance, they have the meaning of cognition, but should be tidied up.
