In the southern edge of the Junggar Basin, Xinjiang, abundant Late Cretaceous ostracod fossils have widely been found in the Ziniquanzi Formation which have the same features and distribute steadily from west to east. Within the ostracode fauna, 10 genera (including 1 subgenus), 17 species, 4 species conformis and 2 species indeterminate are identified, which can be classified as one assemblage of Talicypridea. The Talicypridea assemblage is an important index for subdivision and correlation of the Ziniquanzi Formation in this area.
