///This paper selected the avalanche scale and traffic volume as the main parameters for the size of disaster in highway avalanche disaster evaluation and the disaster grading index, based on the special characteristics of highway and the actual situation of highway transportation. The paper established a grading standard of avalanche disaster assessment based on the theoretical research on how the avalanche scale and traffic volume act on the highway. Finally, the paper established the disaster degree calculation formula, and put forward classification standard of highway avalanche disaster using the value of Disaster Degree as the grading index.
