Correctional Settlement Calculation Method of Foundation under the Soil Subgrade Load

To obtain the stress distribution and deformation parameter with reasonable accuracy is still an issue which has not been resolved in the analysis of settlement of the soil foundation.In order to improve the calculation accuracy of the soil subgrade foundation,a correctional tangent modulus method for calculating settlement of foundations is proposed by using the results of plate loading test.By combining the ground reaction that squares up the impact of the width height ratio(b/h) of the subgrade with the Boussinesq theory,the modified additional stress under the soil subgrade load is obtained.According to the in-situ plate loading curves,the equation of the tangent modulus of undisturbed soil with the correctional additional stress is set up.The nonlinear settlement of the soil foundation can be calculated based on the layer-wise summation method.The results of settlement of two types of medium-compacted soil foundation,which are calculated by correctional tangent modulus method,are in good agreement with the observations.Therefore,the model can be used as a reference method for the objective of subsidence control of the soil foundation in high-speed railway.
