Through studies and analyses of concentration data of trace elements in atmospheric depositional dusts located in typical areas of Nanjing, Nantong, Changzhou, Rugao, Taicang, Jiangdu and the Dingshu Town of Yixing in Jiangsu Province, the authors summarized the concentrations of the trace elements in atmospheric depositions in the above mentioned areas, and found that the distribution of trace elements differed greatly in different areas in atmospheric depositional compositions. It is concluded that the geochemical survey of atmospheric deposition played a unique role in many fields such as utilization and protection of urban land resource, rational layout of industry, circulation of surface geological proceses, and health care of inhabitant.
