In this paper, through an analysis of the current situation and the facing problem in the biomass energy development all over the world, its future developing trend is predicted. Currently, the U.S.A is the largest ethanol producer, Brazil is the second-largest fuel ethanol producer, EU becomes the main biodiesel producer, and the other countries are also actively developing biomass energy sources. But on the other hand, such biomass energy development has also brought about a series of problems, and even the social instability caused by the food crisis. However, biomass energy sources are still the important field for human beings to achieve sustainable energy development so the second and the third generations of non-grain biomass energy sources have become the world focus and will be the ultimate goal of biomass energy development.
