A New Vetulicoliid from Lower Cambrian, Kunming, Yunnan Province

A new vetulicolian Vetulicola longbaoshanensis sp. nov. from the Wulongqing Member of the Lower Cambrian Canglangpu Formation in Kunming area, Yunnan Province is described and compared with other related vetulicolians. This new species of the Chengjiang Biota expands understanding of vetulicolians, especially on its evolutionary trends in early Cambrian. In addition, the well preserved lateral pouches of V. longbaoshanensis sp. nov. provide new insights for understanding the systematics and phylogeny of vetulicolians.
