As an important storage and transporation space, epikarst is a main factor affecting the water cycle in a karst area, and the hydrogeological study of epikarst is crucial to hydrologic research and environmental assessment in study area. The study is conducted in a small watershed of Chenqi at Puding, Guizhou Province. Based on the results of field investigation, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and infiltration test, the hydrogeology of epikarst and the effect on hydrology have been studied. The mean fracture rate of epikarst is 5.3%, and it decreases with increasing depth. The depth of epikarst with about 10~60 cm-thick soil layer above is around 3 m in the cluster-peach of this basin, and shows a decreasing tendencye from lower level to higher level. There is a difference between epikarst and other conjoint layers, and it is the important reason of overland flow in the karst area.
