Based on materials from the Nanba section in the Yiyang area, oft-com:office:smarttags" />Hunan Province, four graptolite zones of the Floian Stage (Lower Ordovician) are identified in ascending order: Tetragraptus approximatus Zone, Pendeograptus fruticosus Zone, Didymograptellus bifidus Zone and Corymbograptus deflexus Zone. No hiatus exists below the Floian Stage in the Nanba section since the T. approximatus Zone is underlain directly by the Hunnegraptus copiosus Zone, the topmost graptolite zone of the preceding Tremadocian Stage. As a result, a consecutive graptolite succession of the Floian Stage could be established in the Yiyang area. This succession allows precise correlation of Floian graptolite biostratigraphy between this area and elsewhere home and abroad.oft-com:office:office" />
