Stability Analysis on A Large-Scale Toppling-Type Slope Using Non-Linear Strength Reduction Method

The large-scale toppling-type slope is located at near the traffic tunnel outlet of the Laohuzui hydropower station,on the right bank of Bahe River in the Linzhi City of Tibet. By analyzing the genetic mechanism of topping,the shear strength of rock mass was described using the generalized Hoek-Brown criterion,which was widely used in the jointed rock mass.The numerical analysis was based on the non-linear shear strength reduction method(SSR),and comparign its result with the ones obtained by the limit equilibrium method(LEM),the conclusions are almost identical.The computational results indicate that the section of slope is almost in a limit equilibrium state before treatment and reinforcement,and the method of SSR numerical analysis reflected well on its failure and sliding features.
